Watching a Movie or TV Show
Once you've bought or rented a movie or TV show, you can watch it on your tablet, phone,
or computer.
Watching Online
Since streaming video- especially HD video- uses a lot of data, it's best to watch when you
have a strong Wi-Fi connection. You can watch streaming video over LTE but you'll use
gigabytes (GB) of data.
You can quickly go through your monthly data allowance and then pay high rates for the
excess. Most cell phone companies allow you to set up alerts so you'll get an email or text
when you approach your data limits.
Watching a Movie or TV Show
To watch a movie or TV show that you've already bought or rented, open the Google Play
or Play Movies app and then tap on My Movies & TV. (If that choice is not visible, tap the
Menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen to display the menu.) Browse or search for
the video you'd like to watch, then tap to play it.
Video automatically fills the screen. Tap the screen to show the controls. To return to the
previous screen, tap the Back icon at the upper left corner of the screen. A Play/Pause icon
appears at the lower left corner, next to the progress bar. You can fast forward or jump to a
different place by tapping the progress bar or dragging the slider. The run time and total run
time are also shown. In the lower right corner, icons let you switch between SD (Standard
Definition) and HD (High Definition) video. You can also turn captioning on and off. Tap
the Menu icon in the upper right corner to access settings and help.
Watching on a Computer
To watch a movie or TV show you've previously bought or rented, open your web browser
and go to play.google.com/movies . Or from Google.com , click on the Apps menu at the
upper right corner of the Google window and select Google Play. Now select Movies & TV
from the menu at the left side of the screen, then My Movies & TV. Browse or search for
the video you'd like to watch, and click on it to open it.
