BATTLE PLAN: The Peninsular War of 1808-1814 was one of the series of conflicts known collect-
ively as the Napoleonic Wars. This map records the nominal victory of the British (in red) and Spanish
(yellow) over the French (blue) at the Battle of Talavera on 27-28 July 1809.
