CREATED BY THE RAILWAY: There was very little at Greenore until 1873, when the London and
North Western Railway Company constructed a substantial hotel and railway station to serve ferry
passengers. On the southern shores of Carlingford Lough, it offers spectacular views of the Mourne
Mountains.
