design a tree for a not too large number of classes. As a matter of fact the time
needed to compute a MEE split can be ten to hundred times smaller than
to compute other types of splits. When the number of classes is large (say,
above 8), even with the provisions discussed in Sect. 6.6.1.3, a substantial
increase in computation time may occur.
