Two abnormally differentially expressed genes (AF190929 and
BC011191) need to be explained.
The top 13 genes most differentially expressed as a group can be used
as the experimental targets for further research (Fig. 5.9).
Comparing the top 13-gene group with the top 29 expressed genes in
P190 and the top 22 genes in P210, one can find almost nothing in
common (Tables 5.4 and 5.5). This supports the statement that data
analysis strategies play a critical role in microarray data interpretation.

5.2.1. Introduction
A generic approach to cancer classification based on gene expression
monitoring by DNA microarrays is proposed and applied to two test can-
cer cases: colon cancer and leukemia. The study attempts to analyze
multiple sets of genes simultaneously for an overall global solution to
the gene's joint discriminative ability in assigning tumors to known
