Figure 4.3 shows the sorted data to present the fold change to the vec-
tor for P190, P210, and P230.
To view the data from another angle, the absolute values of the fold
changes are sorted and shown in Fig. 4.4.
Finally, the top 1000 genes with the most expressions are selected
from P190, P210, and P230, respectively, for a comparison in Fig. 4.5.
In order to analyze the microarray expression data for our experiments
efficiently and accurately, a PC-based software application (Gene Star)
has been developed. The user-friendly graphical interface of Gene Star for
data analysis and display is shown in Fig. 4.6(a).
Further comparisons have been carried out and significant results have
emerged based on the observations:
As shown in Figs. 4.6(b)-4.6(d) and Table 4.1 (which summarizes the
three plots), P210 has more regulated genes than P190 and P230 when
compared to the same vector.
P210 is not only the most active in gene expression, but also has
almost all of the same expressed genes in either P190 or P230. P210
behaves as a “father” of P190 and P230.
