Borderline eccentric
hotel, occupying a kind of ersatz Neoclassical ruin. Rooms are a mixed bag: the cheapest, in
the bungalows at the back, are acceptable if unremarkable; pricier rooms ($75) overlooking
the hotel's decent-sized pool are smarter, if you don't mind the odd brick-and-wood decor,

cabins set around the small and rather bleak-looking pool are dated and depressing, despite
the views of nearby temples. Newer rooms in a couple of modern two-storey blocks further
back are significantly nicer (and some of them no more expensive

smart bathrooms. Ask to have a look around before you check in.

One of New

simple but well-equipped wood-panelled rooms, including pretty cabanas at the front faced
with split betel tree trunks (hence the name). It's a bit ove

the genuinely warm welcome at least partly compensates.
