Strand Rd 059 51352.
Right on Strand Rd, the noisy front rooms here
have partially obscured sea views (there's an island in the way). It's pleasant enough inside,

This extravagantly
tiled guesthouse is tucked away in a backstreet, a sweaty 10min walk uphill from the jetty.
Rooms are clean and neat, and there's a small restaurant downstairs. There's free wi-fi, and
the
hotel accepts US dollars, baht and kyat, with baht prices offering best value for money.

Banks
Despite the bank buildings that dot the town centre, the KBZ Bank on Airport Rd
near the
Kawthaung
hotel is the only one that actually offers banking services; there's no
ATM,butthey'llchangeUSdollarsandeurosforyou.Tochangebahtyou'llneedtochance

Internet
Myanmar Info Tech, south of the jetty on Strand Rd, has a decent connection,
which is just as well, because it's rather pricey at K900/hr.
