DAWEI TO KAWTHAUNG BY BOAT
Three companies, Fortune Express, Ayernady and Hi-Fi, operate fast boats along the coast
from Dawei to Myeik and on to Kawthaung . The boats seat around fifty passengers and

with palm-fringed islands and flying fish.
Southbound boats depart Dawei around 4am each morning, arriving in Myeik around
8-9am and getting to Kawthaung mid-afternoon. Northbound boats leave Kawthaung
around3.30-4.30am,stoppingatMyeikaroundnoonandarrivinginDaweimid-afternoon.
The three operators all charge similar prices: $25 for Dawei-Myeik, $45 for
Myeik-Kawthaungand$65forthewholejourneybetweenDaweiandKawthaung.There's
no food or water available on board, so do make sure to bring provisions.
The boat service often stops temporarily in rainy season (usually June-Sept), and during
and after bad weather at any time of year.
