location a 20min walk (or short taxi ride) from the centre. Rooms are unusually large, bright
and peaceful, and there's a well-equipped internet café, free airport pick-up for internation-
al arrivals (plus free morning and afternoon airport bus shuttles), and an excellent range of
travel services, including efficient bus and plane ticketing. The cosy little in-house restaurant
serves up good food, and rates include an excellent breakfast, either Western or Burmese -
orderthenightbeforefor mohinga , onn oth khawk hswe (noodleswithcoconutmilkgravy)or
nan gyi thoke (thick noodle salad). $30

touch of Japanese style in its minimalist wooden rooms with hardly any furniture and mat-
tresses on the floor under big mosquito nets. A characterful, if not especially comfortable,
option, and very gloomy lighting and pricier than it should be. They run a sec ond place, the
Okinawa Guesthouse 2 , just down the road with similar rooms at similar rates. $26

dah! about the Tadar ,but it does OKif the adjacent Chan Myae and Cherry are both full. All
rooms have a/c, but bathrooms are cold water only and breakfast isn't include d in the, admit-
