laws of the country they are in. The embassy won't be sympathetic if you end up in jail after committing a
crime, even if such actions are legal in your own country.
In genuine emergencies assistance may be available, but only if all other channels have been exhausted. If
you have all your money and documents stolen, the embassy can assist with getting a new passport, but a
loan for onward travel is out of the question.
