Basic Training accepts volunteers to teach English to local kids, but ordinary travellers
looking to spend a few days going local in a Khmer village are welcome too. Tours by ox-
cart, horse or boat along the Mekong are available. It's in Chiro village on the east bank of
the Mekong, about 5km north of the French lighthouse.
