KOMPONG THOM PROVINCE
An easy stopover when travelling overland between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Kom-
pong Thom Province is drawing more visitors thanks to several unique sites near the pro-
vincial capital, Kompong Thom, including the pre-Angkorian temples of Sambor Prei Kuk
and the extraordinary hilltop shrines of Phnom Santuk. The most noteworthy geographical
feature in the province is Stung Sen, Cambodia's second-longest river, which eventually
flows into Tonlé Sap River.
