MUSEUM STORES
Bailey House Museum Shop For made-in-Hawaii items, Bailey House is a
must-stop. It offers a thoroughly enjoyable browse through authoritative Hawai-
iana, in a museum that's one of the finest examples of missionary architecture,
dating from 1833. The shop packs a wallop with its selection of remarkable gift
items, from Hawaiian music to exquisite woods; traditional Hawaiian games to
pareus and books. Prints by the legendary Hawaii artist Madge Tennent, lauhala
hats hanging in midair, hand-sewn pheasant hatbands, jams and jellies, Maui
cookbooks, and an occasional Hawaiian quilt are some of the treasures to be
found here. 2375-A Main St., Wailuku. & 808/244-3326.
Maui Ocean Center After wandering through this terrific aquarium, stop by
their gift store, located in the heart of the center. Available at this huge (6,000
sq. ft.) store are plush stuffed marine animals; nature books; an array of fine art-
work, jewelry, and Hawaiiana created by some of the island's most prominent
artists; and the usual great souvenirs—T-shirts. Maalaea Harbor Village, 192 Maalaea
Rd. (in the triangle between Honoapiilani Hwy. and Maalaea Rd.). & 808/270-7000.

lar basis, but the Sandal Tree attracts a flock of footwear fanatics who come here
from throughout the islands for rubber thongs and Top-Siders, sandals and
dressy pumps, athletic shoes and hats, designer footwear, and much more. Prices
Roselani: Maui's Best Ice Cream
For the culinary experience of your trip to Maui, try Roselani Ice Cream,
Maui's only made-from-scratch, old-fashioned ice cream. In fact, be sure
to try it early in your trip so you can eat your way through this little bit
of heaven at restaurants, scooping parlors, or your own stash from gro-
cery stores. It's nearly impossible to find a restaurant, hotel, or scooping
parlor that does not have Roselani Ice Cream, but accept no substitute—
demand Roselani. For a list of hotels, restaurants, parlors, and grocery
stores carrying Roselani, call & 808/244-7951 or check www.roselani.com.
The difference between Roselani and ordinary ice cream? With one lick
your taste buds will be cheering—this is the perfect rich, creamy ice cream
(made from 12%-16% butter fat). After Roselani Ice Cream, all other ice
creams pale in comparison.
