Finance and funding
Capital Region To u rism is fully funded by the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG), which has responsibility
for tourism development and promotion in the principality. WAG also funds Visit Wales, the national tourism
body. CRT's budget from WAG for 2009-10 amounted to £610,000. Its 2009-10 business plan allocates this
budget to the following pri o r it y areas:

Quality
Access
Skills
Partnerships
Research
Administration
CRT also receives funding from Europe via the Europ e an Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European
Social Fund (ESF). Some of its work with partner organi s ations will also bring in additional funding to add
to its core budget of £610,000. CRT is working with a var i ety of organisations in the build-up to golf's Ryder
Cup in September 2010 at Newport's Celtic Manor Resort. CRT has allocated £50,000 from its core budget
to invest in training and product development to support thi s major sporting event.
