Activity 10.10
Business travel can be very complicated, particularly if a
trip involves crossing many borders and continents. It is
the job of business travel agents to make sure that their
clients are provided with all the necessary information
for a successful trip. The precise information needed
will differ depending on individual client circumstances,
but may include advice on:
You are working on placement in a local business

You should use appropriate resources to produce an
itinerary that must include all timings and a detailed
breakdown of costs. They are looking for two rooms
in reasonably-priced 3-star hotel accommodation
throughout the tour. They will cover fuel costs
themselves, so these need not be included in your
costing. Your itinerary should also include information
on additional products, services and information for
the customer, e.g. foreign currency requirements in
destinations, passport and visa information, health
advice and requirements, insurance, local customs,
events and activities. You must justify how the costs,
the itinerary and the information you provided fully
meet the customer brief.
Insurance policy terms and booking conditions -
sometimes referred to as 'the small print', these are
the important points that business travellers need
to be made aware of in case they run into diffi culties
while travelling abroad, such as travel delays.
