Most UK package holidays use air travel to get
customers to their overseas destination in order to
save time travelling. Prices for these holidays will vary
depending on the departure airport used. There may be
an extra charge (fl ight supplement) applied when using
certain airports. Package holidays can also be based
on travel by coach, train, cruise ship or self-drive car.

tailor-made holidays, where travel agents and tour
operators design and book travel arrangements that
are specifi c to individual clients rather than selling
a standard package holiday 'off the shelf'. As with
package holidays, tailor-made holidays can be to
short-haul or long-haul destinations, although a great
deal of this sort of independent travel is to far-off
