INTRODUCTION TO THE UNIT
Long-haul tra v el destinations are growing in popularity all the time and having a good knowledge of where
they are locat ed a nd what they can offer tourists is essential for many people working in the travel and tourism
sector. Tourists ar e becoming more adventurous and are travelling further afi eld, always looking for new areas
to visit and trying o ut new experiences. Staff in travel and tourism must be able to satisfy this demand for more
knowledge about d e s tinations, knowing where to fi nd information and how to present it in a logical manner.
