While underta k ing Task 2c and 2d, you must consistently present a positive impression in the different
stages of the recruitment and selection process (D1). This means evidence of a well-executed letter of
application, a detailed and professional looking CV and detailed positive responses to questions in an
application form - all completed to high standards of accuracy. Participation in the interview will have
been positive and of a sta nda rd likely to bring success in the selection process.
This task is designed to provide evi d ence for P3, P4, P5, M2 and D1.
Task 3
You are to research and make a presentation on the subject of effective workplaces in travel and tourism. In
your presentation, you should:
a.
Explain the factors that contribute to an effective wo r kplace in travel and tourism organisations (P6). Your
presentation should include an explanation of factors concerned with the working environment, working
relationships, incentives and training. Links should be made to the various component industries found
in the travel and tourism sector.
b.
Review how at least two different travel and tourism organisations motivate their staff in the workplace
(M3).
c.
Analyse the factors that contribute to an effective workplace, highlighting good practice from different
travel and tourism organisations (D2). The relative importance o f different factors should be explored
and specifi c examples of good practice cited. Your analysis does not have to be restricted to the two
organisations reviewed for M3 and could include topical initiatives and new approaches being developed
in travel and tourism.
This task is designed to provide evidence for P6, M3 and D2.
