Know the needs of inbound and dome s t i c
visitors to UK tourist destinations
SECTION 2
This section investigates the needs of both domestic
and inbound tourists, but begins by examining some
key tourism defi nitions. There are three main types of
tourism:

Inbound tourism - this is when people enter a
country from their own country or another country
which is not their home;

the different types o f tourism are shown in Figure 3.2.
