The splendid 13th-century Palazzo Spini-Feroni has been the home of the Ferragamo
fashion empire since 1938. Anyone with even the faintest tendency towards shoe addic-
tion or interested in the sociohistorical context of fashion should not miss the esoteric but
oddly compelling shoe museum. ( www.museoferragamo.it ; Via de' Tornabuoni 2; adult/reduced €6/free;

Strut through the bookshop/store to reach this bijou museum, which tells the tale of the
Gucci fashion house. Exhibits include the first luggage pieces in its signature beige fabric
emblazoned with the interlocking 'GG' logo, the 1950s equivalents in red-and-green
stripe and even a gleaming white, 1979 Cadillac Seville with gold Gs on the hubcaps and
Gucci fabric upholstery. ( www.gucci.com ; Piazza della Signoria 10; adult/child €6/free;
