Day One
With only one day, you'll need to get cracking! Head to Piazza della Repub-

siblings, then make your way to the Uffizi Gallery ( Click here ) for a masterpiece-driven
introduction to Renaissance art. For lunch, join the city's fashionistas at Gucci Museo
Caffè ( Click here ) or grab a gourmet sandwich at 'Ino ( Click here ).
Piazza del Duomo is your next stop. Climb to the top of the dome or the cam-
panile (bell tower; only masochists need do both), marvel at the interior of the
duomo (cathedral; Click here ) and battistero (baptistry), and admire the original Door of
Paradise at the Grande Museo del Duomo.
After all this, you'll deserve a drink and a meal. Saunter over the Ponte Vecchio
( Click here ) , admiring the sunset view from its central belvederes, and then
choose between Le Volpi e l'Uva ( Click here ) and Il Santino ( Click here ) for your
