Siena's
duomo
is one of Italy's greatest Gothic churches,
and is also the focal point of an important group of ecclesi-
astical buildings that includes a museum, baptistry and
crypt. All are embellished with wonderful art - Giovanni
and Nicola Pisano, Bernardino Pinturicchio, Jacopo della
Quercia, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Donatello and the most famous
of all Sienese painters, Duccio di Buoninsegna, are only a
few of the many talented artists who contributed works to
glorify their city and their god.
