17.2.2.3 Intersection Recon guration

Multi-leg intersections should be avoided from a safety, capacity, and congestion
standpoints. Where space is available these intersections should be simpli ed and

recon gured. Illustrative examples from the AASHTO “ Green Book ” [ 10 ] are

shown in Fig. 17.6 .
