Travel Reference
In-Depth Information
questions about travel can be replied to on Twitter, but any inquiries that involve personal
information are taken offline.
This service adds to the ways that British people travelling or living overseas can already
get in touch with the FCO: by emailing the travel advice team - traveladvicepublicen-
quiries@fco.gov.uk - or contacting local consular staff: www.gov.uk/government/world/
organisations .
The FCO has an online travel guide that you can find at:
www.gov.uk/government/news/plan-pack-explore-a-new-guide-for-travellers
While the FCO deals with all travellers, not only those on a gap, we agree with the message
about being as prepared as possible before you go and that's what this guidebook is for.
We also recommend that you consider taking a gappers' safety course before you go, to
teach you how to recognise danger (from people as well as natural disasters), and how to
look after yourself in a bad situation - it could be the thing that saves your life.
