Design and fashion
Every year, when the new season's collections are shown on the world's fashion catwalks,
it's clear that the designers have 'discovered' the fabrics, or decoration or style, of one region
or another.
So for those with a passion for fashion a gap-year is a great opportunity to experience the ori-
ginals for themselves. Wandering the streets in other countries, and seeing how other people
put their 'look' together, can be an inspiration.
Then there's the opportunity to snap up, at bargain prices, all kinds of beautiful fabrics that
would cost a fortune back home.
But if you wanted to use part of your gap to find out more about fashion and design you
could also join a fashion summer school in one of Europe's capitals, like the ones listed on
this website:
