hall. Single fares are outrageously expensive - a journey in zone 1 costs an unbelievable
£4.70 - so if you're intending to make more than one journey, an Oyster card (£2.20 per

BUSES
London's famous double-decker buses are fun to ride on, with most running at a frequency
of five to ten minutes during the day. Some stops have live departure information and there
are several apps that will do the same for you, like Bus London and Next London. Cash is
no longer accepted on-board buses; instead you must pay with an Oyster card, Travelcard
or contactless payment card. A single fare costs £1.45.
A lot of bus stops are request stops (easily recognizable by their red sign) - stick your
arm out to hail the bus or it will pass you by, and when on board ring the bell to request it
to stop. Some buses run a 24-hour service, but most run between 5am and midnight.
