In-Depth Information
lower-ground-floor array of documents and images attesting to the human damage of the
last century of war. In addition to the static displays, there's a walk-through World War I
trench and a section telling the story of family life during the Blitz. The museum's art gal-
leries on the second floor are well worth a visit for their superb exhibitions of war artists,
official and unofficial. Entered from the third floor, the harrowing Holocaust Exhibition
(not recommended for children under 14) pulls few punches, and has made a valiant attempt
to avoid depicting the victims of the Holocaust as nameless masses by focusing on individu-
al cases, interspersing the archive footage with eyewitness accounts from contemporary sur-
vivors.
