Docklands Light Railway
The best way to visit Docklands is to take the Docklands Light Railway or DLR ( 020
7363 9700, www.tfl.gov.uk/dlr ) , whose driverless trains run on overhead tracks, and
give out great views over the cityscape. DLR trains set off from Bank tube and from
Tower Gateway, close to Tower Hill tube and the Tower of London.
THE DOME
North Greenwich. MAP
Clearly visible from the east bank of the Isle of Dogs, the Dome, or O2 as it's currently
known ( www.theo2.co.uk ) is a 23,000-seat events arena, designed by Richard Rogers for
the millennium celebrations. Over half a mile in circumference, 160ft in height and held up
by a dozen, 300ft-tall yellow steel masts, it's the largest of its kind in the world.
