promenade. Excellent grills and spit-roasts, typically

the middle of the bay, with large portions of octopus salad
(€8.50), white beans, meaty mains and fish platters

Pretty little shoreline cottage, nicely restored
to create a buzzing, music-oriented bar and café that also
offers a reasonable snack menu. The rooftop terrace is a great
spot for late-night stargazing.

Beaches near Livádhia
It's easy to spend days on end lazing on the beach at Livádhia itself but quieter
alternatives lies within easy walking distance. An obvious trail heads north to the
pebble bay of
Lethrá
, a walk that takes around an hour one-way. Two-thirds of the way
along, a side-path drops to the tiny red-sand beach of
Ammóhosti
, which you're
unlikely to have to yourself.
Another hour-long hike, to the secluded south-shore cove of
Stavrós
, starts between
the
Tilos Mare Hotel
and the
Castellania Apartments
; once up to the saddle with its
