ACCOMMODATION
There are thousands of rooms to rent in Haniá, as well as a number of pricey boutique hotels. Though you may face a long
search for a bed at the height of the season, eventually everyone does seem to find something. Perhaps the most desirable
rooms of all are those overlooking the
harbour
. Most are approached not direct from the harbourside itself but from the
streets behind; those further back are likely to be more peaceful. Theotokopoúlou and the alleys off it make a good starting
point. In the eastern half of the old town, rooms are far more scattered and in the height of the season your chances are much
better over here. Try
Kastélli
, immediately east of the harbour, or around
Splántzia
and the streets around the cathedral.
