beach, Poúnda ( not to be confused with the port of the same name on the west coast),
is home to a beach club with parties that go on well into the night. The final two are
the twin windsurfing beaches of New and Old Khrissí Akti (Golden Beach), which have
been established as the main resorts of the southeast.
Dhryós , the end of the bus routes, is the only settlement of any size in this part of Páros.
Although the village is mostly modern and characterless, it has an attractive, quiet beach.

Andíparos
ANDÍPAROS is no longer a secret destination: the waterfront is lined with new hotels
and apartments, and in high season it can be full, though in recent years families have
displaced the former young, international crowd. However, the island has retained its
friendly backwoods atmosphere and has a lot going for it, including good sandy
beaches and a remarkable cave. Furthermore, rooms and hotels here are much less
expensive than on Páros.

Andíparos Town
Most of the population live in the large low-lying ANDÍPAROS TOWN , across the narrow
straits from Páros, the new development on the outskirts concealing an attractive
traditional settlement. A long, flagstoned pedestrian street forms its backbone, leading
from the jetty to the Cycladic houses around the outer wall of the kástro. It was built
by Leonardo Loredano in the 1440s as a fortified settlement safe from pirate raids - his
family coat of arms can still be seen on a house in the courtyard. The only way in is
through a pointed archway from the main square, where several cafés are shaded by a
giant eucalyptus. Inside, more whitewashed houses surround two churches and a
cistern built into the surviving base of the central tower. The town has also developed
into a prime diving centre.
