Services There is no shortage of banks or ATMs in Parikiá.
The island's only post office is west of the windmill, past the
ancient cemetery. Cybercookies ( T 22840 21610,
W cybercookies.gr; €3/hr) off the main square is the best
internet café. Luggage can be left at various travel agents
(look for signs) along Parikiá's watefront.
Travel agents Polos Tours ( T 22840 22092, W polostours
.gr) in Parikiá is one of the friendlier travel agencies, issuing
air tickets for Olympic, and acting as agents for virtually all
the boats.
GETTING AROUND
By bus The bus station is 100m or so west of the ferry dock.
Note that there are two places called Poúnda on Páros, one
being the west-coast port, the other a beach on the east
coast (see p.408). Náoussa (hourly through the night in high
season; 20min), Poúnda for Andíparos (20min), Dhryós (1hr).
By car and motorcycle Rental outfits include European
( T 22840 21771, W paroscars.gr) and Avant Travel ( T 22840
22302, W europcar-paros.com) on the western and eastern
waterfronts respectively. Note that traffic rules are strictly
enforced, and that various streets are one-way. Parking is
only allowed in designated areas and parts of the Parikiá
seafront are closed to traffic during summer evenings.
Parikiá and around
Bustling PARIKIÁ sets the tone architecturally for the rest of Páros, its ranks of typically
Cycladic white houses punctuated by the occasional Venetian-style building and church
