Important OpenBoot Commands
Some of the more important OpenBoot commands are used to view and
modify NVRAM parameters, display system configuration information, per-
form hardware testing, and control the system booting. All these commands
are entered at the Forth Monitor or at the OpenBoot ok prompt.
Table 2.1 lists the OpenBoot commands used to view and modify NVRAM
parameters.

printenv
Displays the current value of all variables and current default
values.
printenv variable
Displays the current value of variable .
setenv variable value
Sets the variable to value .
set-defaults
Resets all variables to original default values.
set-default variable
Resets variable to its default value.

devalias
Lists all device aliases.
.enet-addr
Displays the Ethernet address.
.idprom
Displays formatted ID PROM contents.
module-info
Displays CPU speed (2.x only).
show-devs
Lists installed devices.
.speed
Displays CPU and bus speeds (3.x only).
.traps
Lists the types of SPARC traps.
.version
Displays the boot PROM version and data.
Table 2.3 lists the OpenBoot commands that are used to perform basic hard-
ware testing.
