BUS
Services terminating at the city's main bus station (700 Douglas St) include Greyhound
Canada ( www.greyhound.ca ) routes from Nanaimo ($13.50, 2½ hours, three daily) and
across the island, along with frequent Pacific Coach Lines ( www.pacificcoach.com ) ser-
vices from Vancouver (from $38, 3½ hours) and Vancouver International Airport ($44,
four hours).
Getting Around
TO/FROM THE AIRPORT
AKAL Airporter ( www.victoriaairporter.com ) minibuses run between the airport and area
hotels ($21, 30 minutes). In contrast, a taxi to downtown costs around $50, while transit
buses 83, 86 and 88 take around 35 minutes and cost $2.50 - you may have to change
buses at McTavish Exchange.
BICYCLE
Victoria is a great cycling capital with plenty of routes crisscrossing the city and beyond.

BOAT
Victoria Harbour Ferry ( www.victoriaharbourferry.com ; fares from $5) Covers the Inner Har-
bour, Songhees Park (for Spinnakers Brewpub) and other stops along the Gorge Water-
way with its colorful armada of bath-size little boats.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Victoria Regional Transit ( www.busonline.ca ) Buses cover a wide area from Sidney to
Sooke, with some routes served by modern double-deckers. Fares are $2.50/5 per adult/
day pass. Children under five years travel free.
