HI Whistler Hostel HOSTEL$
( 866-762-4122, 604-962-0025; www.hihostels.ca ; 1035 Legacy Way; dm/r $36/95; )
Built as athlete accommodations for the 2010 Winter Olympics, this sparkling hostel is
7km south of the village near Function Junction (transit buses to/from town stop right
outside). Book ahead for private rooms (with ensuites and TVs) or save by staying in a
small dorm. Eschewing the sometimes institutionalized HI-hostel feel, this one has Ikea-
esque furnishings, art-lined walls and a licensed cafe.
There's also a great TV room for rainy-day hunkering. But if it's fine, hit the nearby
biking and hiking trails or barbecue on one of the two mountain-view decks. And when
it's time to visit the village, the bus will have you there in around 15 minutes.

Hwy 99, this facility-packed, family-friendly campground and RV park has elevated it-
self in recent years by adding cozy cabin and yurt options. The yurts, with basic furnish-
ings and electricity (bedding provided), are especailly recommended. The resort's on-site
Junction Café also serves great breakfasts.
Crystal Lodge & Suites HOTEL$$$
( 800-667-3363, 604-932-2221; www.crystal-lodge.com ; 4154 Village Green; d/ste from $130/
175; ) Not all rooms are created equal at the Crystal, forged from the fusion of
two quite different hotel towers. Cheaper rooms in the South Tower are standard style -
baths and refrigerators are the highlight - but those in the Lodge Wing match the hand-
some rock-and-beam lobby, complete with small balconies. Both share excellent proxim-
ity to restaurants and ski lifts.

( 800-665-1998, 604-932-4187; www.chaletluise.com ; 7461 Ambassador Cres; d from $125; )
A five-minute trail walk from the village, this Bavarian-look pension has eight bright and
sunny rooms - think pine furnishings and crisp white duvets - and a flower garden that's
ideal for a spot of evening wine quaffing. Or you can just hop in the hot tub and dream
about the large buffet breakfast coming your way in the morning. Free parking.
