BUS
Most out-of-town buses grind to a halt at Vancouver's Pacific Central Station (1150 Sta-
tion St) . Greyhound Canada ( www.greyhound.ca ) services arrive from Whistler (from $18,
2¾ hours), Kelowna (from $29, six hours) and beyond. Traveling via the BC Ferries
Swartz Bay-Tsawwassen route, frequent Pacific Coach Lines (PCL;
www.pacificcoach.com ) services also trundle in from Victoria (from $44, 3½ hours). PCL
also operates services from Whistler.
Snowbus ( 888-794-5511; www.snowbus.com ) offers a winter-only ski-bus service to
and from Whistler ($38, three hours).
Quick Coach Lines ( www.quickcoach.com ; ) runs an express shuttle between Seattle,
WA, and Vancouver, departing from downtown Seattle (US$43.85, four hours) and
Seattle's Sea-Tac International Airport (US$58.50, 3½ hours).
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
If you're coming from Washington state in the US, you'll be on the I-5 until you hit the
border town of Blaine, then on Hwy 99 in Canada. It's about an hour's drive from here to
downtown Vancouver. Hwy 99 continues through downtown, across the Lions Gate
Bridge to Horseshoe Bay, Squamish and Whistler.
Coming from the east, you'll probably be on the Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy 1), which
snakes through the city's eastern end, eventually meeting with Hastings St. If you want to
go downtown, turn left onto Hastings and follow it into the city center.
TRAIN
Trains trundle in from across Canada and the US at Pacific Central Station (1150 Station
St) . The Main St-Science World SkyTrain station is just across the street for connections
to downtown and the suburbs.
VIA Rail ( www.viarail.ca ) Services arrive from Kamloops North (from $77, 10 hours),
Jasper (from $167, 20 hours) and beyond.
Amtrak ( www.amtrak.com ; ) US services arrive from Portland (from US$47, eight
hours) and Seattle (from US$30, 3½ hours).
Getting Around
TO/FROM THE AIRPORT
SkyTrain's Canada Line (adult one-way fare to downtown $7.75 to $10.50) is a transit
train from the airport to downtown. Trains run every few minutes during the day and take
