ings. They're 7 miles from Crater Lake, with a small grocery store and gas pump nearby.
Reserve as early as possible.

October, this grand old lodge has 71 simple but comfortable rooms (no TV or tele-
phones), but it's the common areas that are most impressive. Large stone fireplaces, rus-
tic leather sofas and a spectacular view of Crater Lake from the outside patio make this
place special. There's a fine dining room too.

5-10pm) Crater Lake's finest dining is at the lodge, where you can feast on Northwestern

Fort Klamath & Around
Fort Klamath is about 24 miles from Crater Lake.

good-value place is just south of Fort Klamath and boasts 11 excellent, well-maintained
cabins with kitchens and decks (some overlooking a creek). There are expansive lawns,
and tent and RV sites are available ($20 to $30). Open May to October.
Sun Pass Ranch B&B$$$

is on 110 acres (it's a working cattle ranch) and offers five very comfortable, wood-
paneled rooms, three with private bathroom. The home is beautiful and - unsurprisingly
