famous for its excellent fish and chips and seafood combos. Soup, salad and sandwich

be prepared to wait at peak times.
Red Fish NORTHWESTERN$$$

( 541-336-2200; www.redfishportorford.com ; 517 Jefferson St; mains $21-29; 11am-9pm
Mon-Fri, 9am-9pm Sat & Sun) At first glance this slick, sea-view restaurant would seem
better located in Portland's Pearl District - especially since ex-Salishan chef now
presides over the kitchen. Red Fish boasts the freshest seafood in town, so take advant-
age: try the grilled jerk wild salmon or pan-seared halibut. Weekend brunch too.
