Sleeping
Both towns have cheap motels along their main drags. There are campgrounds to the
south, near Charleston, or north in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area ( Click
here ) .
Bay Bridge Motel MOTEL$

north of the McCullough Bridge and has typical amenities, but most of the 11 rooms
boast very atypical bay views. A few have kitchenette.
Edgewater Inn MOTEL$$$

$100; ) Tucked in behind Safeway and Fred Meyer's, this pleasant motel fea-
tures clean, good-sized rooms (some with kitchenette and Jacuzzi). Get an upper room
for views over the river; they're only $5 more. A business center, gym and indoor pool
are fun diversions.
This Olde House B&B B&B$$$

every B&B can claim to have hosted Robert Plant, even if they had no idea who he was
at the time. There are five homey rooms at this casual B&B, all with private bath; the
Redwood Room boasts the best amenities and view. Reservations are mandatory (even if
you're a rock star).
Eating
Pancake Mill AMERICAN$

no-nonsense diner is popular for its tasty breakfasts and lunches. It's typical stuff -
scrambles, omelettes, waffles and (of course) pancakes for breakfast, with sandwiches
and burgers for lunch. Specialties like chicken pasta salad and chili nacho plates make
things interesting. Plenty of pies and cakes too.
