Hiking
At Cascade Head , two Nature Conservancy trails access a 1200ft-high ocean vista. The
first is Cascade Head (north entrance), a mile-long upper trail that leaves from Cascade
Head Rd (USFS Rd 1861), 4 miles north of the Hwy 18 junction. The second is Trail
1310, a 3-mile lower trail that scales the headland from the end of Three Rocks Rd.
At the end of USFS Rd 1861 is the steep 2.6-mile trail down to Harts Cove , a remote
meadow along a cliff-lined bay frequented by sea lions.
Some trails are closed January to July; call the Hebo Ranger Station (
503-392-3161) for current information.
Other Activities
Canoeing and kayaking are possible on Devil's Lake, east of town, and on Siletz Bay.
Several operators offer horseback riding on the beach, including Green Acres Beach &
Trail Rides (
