Alaskan Way Viaduct
Digging for a new tunnel to redirect noisy SR99 underground began in summer 2013.
When it's finished the ugly Alaskan Way Viaduct will be demolished, leaving Seattle's
waterfront a quieter and more salubrious place.
Pacific Maritime & Heritage Center
The center is the newest attraction in Newport, OR, featuring maritime-related exhibits -
as well as art such as paintings - to educate and entertain visitors, and create a sense of
community for locals.
New Wing at the Maryhill Museum of Art
Oddly located on a scenic bluff at the eastern end of the Columbia River Gorge is this ex-
cellent museum. Its $10-million new wing offers exciting new exhibits, a fine cafe - and
