Shopping
Portland's downtown shopping district extends in a two-block radius from Pioneer
Courthouse Sq. Pioneer Place - an upscale mall - is between SW Morrison and SW
Yamhill Sts, east of the square. Large shopping mall the Lloyd Center is on the eastside.
The Pearl District is full of high-end galleries, boutiques and home-decor shops - and
don't miss Powell's City of Books. On the first Thursday of each month galleries stay
open longer and people fill some of the Pearl's streets amid a party atmosphere. And on
weekends there's the fun Saturday Market.
Northwest's fanciest shopping street is NW 23rd Ave, nicknamed 'trendy-third.' This
is where Portland's branches of Gap, Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware live, among
many other fancy stores and people.
