stores, brewpubs and cafes. You're almost guaranteed to be accosted by panhandlers or
political activists; to escape them, head east to Mt Tabor Park , a small extinct volcano
that has great walking trails and good city views. Nearby is SE Division St, another long
stretch of popular restaurants and shops surrounded by residential neighborhoods.
Finally, way to the south lies Sellwood, an old working-class neighborhood known for
its antique stores.

along with other special, temporary exhibits like Mummies of the World . There's also an
Omnimax theater, planetarium shows and a submarine tour (all carry a separate charge).
Parking is extra; $2 admission first Sunday of each month.
Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden GARDENS

Tue & Wed free, 12yr & under free; dawn-dusk) To the south is this 5-acre garden near Reed
College. Its large, beautiful grounds are covered with more than 2000 full-grown rhodo-
dendrons, azaleas and other plants, plus a large lagoon; peak bloom is late April into
May. Free admission from October through February.
Activities
Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge WILDLIFE REFUGE
Located in Sellwood, this large wetland of around 140 acres has a nearby bike path and
good bird-watching.
Oaks Amusement Park AMUSEMENT PARK

lets $12.25-25; ) Sellwood amusement park popular with families. Lots of fun rides,
plus go-karts and a classic roller-skating rink. Check website for hours, as they vary with
the seasons and for each attraction.
