family-run motel halfway to the airport, the Colonial is welcoming and bike friendly with
safe bike storage and plenty of local maps.
Marcus Whitman Hotel HOTEL$$$

Walla's best-known landmark is also the town's only tall building, impossible to miss
with its distinctive rooftop turret. In keeping with the settlement's well-preserved image,
the red-brick 1928 beauty has been elegantly renovated, with ample rooms in rusts and
browns, embellished with Italian-crafted furniture, huge beds and killer views over the
nearby Blue Mountains.
The on-site Marc restaurant is one of the town's fanciest eating joints.
Green Gables Inn B&B$$$

long way from Prince Edward Island (the setting for Anne of Green Gables) this inn in a
1909 Craftsman-style home plays heavily on the classic book and features five rooms
named after instances in LM Montgomery's famous novel. Enjoy candlelit breakfasts, a
shady wraparound porch, and rooms replete with bathrobes and fresh flowers.

your own transportation and approximately $250 in spare change you can spend a night
at this historic homestead and working winery set in the foothills of the Blue Mountains
4 miles east of Walla Walla. Luxury accommodation is in unique self-contained houses
that each played a historical role at the farm (hayloft, mechanic's shed etc).
Eating
Walla Walla is defined by its wine and food, and its restaurants are befitting of a far lar-
ger city. There are so many great places to eat that we can't possibly list them all here.
