Gustav's Grill & Sports Pub PUB
( www.gustavsleavenworth.com ; 617 US 2; sausages & sandwiches $6-7) In an onion-domed
building on Hwy 2, Gustav's boasts a rooftop beer garden and lots of good Northwest

( box office 509-548-2000; Hwy 2 & Icicle Rd; tickets $14-30; shows Jul, Aug & Dec) Leaven-
worth's flirtation with kitsch doesn't end in the Bavarian village. If a Julie Andrews
sound-alike singing 'Do-Re-Mi' doesn't send you rushing back to Seattle for a distorted
grunge fix, proceed to the Ski Hill Amphitheater during the summer months for a full-
length production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music, performed against
an authentic alpine backdrop.
