Eating
Graham's DINER, PUB$
(9989 Mt Baker Hwy; mains $4-14; dinner daily, breakfast & lunch Sat & Sun) Here's your per-
fect modern-day Western saloon with a clunky piano at the back, Willie Nelson on the
stereo and old rusty tools on the walls for decoration. The old-fashioned wooden bar
serves up microbrews, but the surprise is the food: this is the last place you'd expect to
order polenta cakes with grilled vegetables in a balsamic reduction and have it be out-
rageously good.

night.
Wake & Bakery BAKERY$
(6903 Forest St, Glacier; munchies from $4; 7:30am-5pm) Even before pot went legal in
Washington, you could safely 'get sconed' at this cozy bakery with - as you'd expect -
exceptionally happy service. Take a hit of espresso and ease the munchies with breakfast
burritos, sandwiches and way-better-than-a-Power-Bar nut and seed slabs (the perfect
trail food).
Milano's Restaurant & Deli ITALIAN$$$
(9990 Mt Baker Hwy; dinner $16-20) In common with much of the Mt Baker area, Milano's
doesn't win any 'wows' for its fancy interior decor. But when the pasta's al dente, the
bread's oven fresh and you've got an appetite that's been turned ravenous by successive
bouts of white-knuckle snowboarding, who's complaining?

small bookstore, interpretive displays on the park and a ranger to answer questions. In
