( 360-327-3583; www.northolympic.com/solduc ; 12076 Sol Duc Hot Springs Rd, Port Angeles; RV
sites $36, r $172-210; late Mar-Oct; ) While Sol Duc lacks the classic touches
and style of the more luxurious and older park lodges, this well-known spa retreat packs
a punch with its therapeutic waters and surrounding forest. While it's self-contained -
with mineral pools, a small store and a restaurant - there's still a tangible sense of being
in a remote wilderness.
Thirty-two modern but basic cabins offer private bathrooms and, in some cases, a kit-
chenette. Aside from the steaming waters there's also a massage service available. Day-
hikers and visitors are welcome at the Spring Restaurant or poolside deli. There are 17
RV sites for hire but no tent sites.
