adorable French shabby-chic cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the bistro and de-

mostly local ingredients - try a breakfast croque madame with honey-baked ham and
gruyere on French bread for breakfast, a pork-loin, caramelized-onion and blue-cheese
sandwich for lunch or Cape Cleare king salmon for dinner. Seating is in the colorful her-
itage building or outdoors on wrought-iron tables in a herb-filled garden. Plenty of veget-

verwater provides a romantic atmosphere in the not-too-fancy setting of a classic Port
Townsend Victorian-era building. Renowned for its creatively prepared local dishes such
as ahi tuna and artichoke parmesan paté, the restaurant also rustles up more homely
desserts such as the not-to-be-missed blackberry pie.
Waterfront Pizza PIZZERIA$$$
(951 Water St; large pizzas $11-21) This buy-by-the-slice outlet inspires huge local loyalty
and will satisfy even the most querulous of Chicago-honed palates. Is the secret in the
crisp sourdough crusts or the creative but not overstacked toppings? Who knows? Just
don't leave town without trying it.
