ful. It also has a well-populated website for planning.
Getting There & Away
AIR
El Paso International Airport (ELP; ; www.elpasointernationalairport.com ) is 8 miles northeast of down-
town El Paso. It's accessible by bus, taxi and shuttles.
Southwest Airlines ( 800-435-9792; www.southwest.com ) is the biggest carrier at El Paso Interna-
tional, with about 60% of the domestic flights. Other airlines include American Airlines
( ww.aa.com ) , Delta ( www.delta.com ) and New Mexico Airlines ( www.pacificwings.com/nma/nm ) , for which El
Paso is a hub.
BUS
The terminal for Greyhound ( www.greyhound.com ; 200 W San Antonio Ave) is four blocks from the
center of downtown.
DOWNTOWN CIRCULATOR BUS
Sun Metro ( Click here ) operates three free circulator buses around downtown from early morning till 5pm or
6pm. Check online, call or stop at the visitor center to find out where its services can take you.
CAR
El Paso is on the I-10 just 12 miles from the New Mexico line, but a long day's drive or
more from any other major city in Texas. Stay on I-10 eastbound for San Antonio or Hou-
ston; I-20, the route to Fort Worth and Dallas, leaves I-10 about 150 miles east of El Paso.
The only other major highways are Hwy 54, which runs north to I-40, and Hwy 62/180,
